July
In July starts the main season and with it there are a lot of various events – from concerts of leading national artists, through popular regattas, to traditional festivities. Jazz lovers are coming to Cala Gonone, the sounds of blues will delight the audience in Narcao in south west and pop concerts are on the program of stages in Cagliari, Olbia and Alghero.
In the west of the island there is the Ardia, an equestrian tournament in honour of Saint Constantine, on the evening of July 6th and the morning of July 7th. It is a manifestation of faith, but also the courage of the knights devoted to this saint. It takes place on the outskirts of the town of Sedilo, near the church of San Costantino, around which more than 100 participating riders must gallop according to a precise and clearly defined order. The event is accompanied by numerous celebrations and religious rituals, as well as various concerts and performances near the shrine.
With temperatures over 30 degrees, July is the ideal month for a classic swimming holiday. Those who want to spend it actively can explore the island with a rented car or motorbike, on a boat, in an all-terrain vehicle, from a helicopter or on board the green touristic train.
