Historic Car Rally on the Costa Smeralda

Prince Karim Aga Khan and the then-president of ACI Sassari, Marquis Don Franco di Suni, strongly desired an automotive event to promote the Costa Smeralda, one that would combine charm, beauty, sophistication, and allure. They wanted an event where organizers, drivers, enthusiasts, and sponsors could recognize the value and importance of the race. The first edition took place in April 1978, and in 2018, it was revived on the occasion of its 40th anniversary. Thus, the historic rally was born, where champions like Verini, Toivonen, Kankkunen, Cerrato, and Biasion emerged victorious, some of whom later became world champions.
