The south-east coast is particularly popular with motorbike couples, as it offers many romantic corners and captivating views. Inland, the roads that cross Gennargentu and Supramonte, two mountain massifs that make the area look like an Apennine landscape and hide an infinite number of small villages perched on their slopes, can be chosen. These roads are a biker´s paradise and are visited by riders from all over Europe. The north of the island is an area characterized above all by its beautiful sea and Caribbean beaches, but you will also find interesting routes and motor enthusiasts will appreciate the quality of local roads. The beautiful itinerary starts in the port of Olbia and leads towards the beaches of Cala Moresca and Cugnana, from where the Costa Smeralda, the famous Emerald Coast, begins. From there you can travel through the famous Porto Cervo to Capo Ferro, board the ferry in Palau and explore Maddalena Island, the largest island of the archipelago of the same name. From the island, you will again take the ferry towards Santa Teresa di Gallura, from where the SS200 and SP81 roads will take you to Porto Torres and to one of the most beautiful beaches in Sardinia: La Pelosa near Stintino. From here you can easily reach Alghero on the west coast. The entire route includes over 350 km and can be covered within less than two days. Another popular, sought-after motorbike route connects the two ends of the west coast, namely Stintino in the province of Sassari and the Sant’Antioco island in Southern Sardinia. It is approximately 300 km long and passes through the cities of Alghero, Cuglieri, Oristano and Iglesias along the coast and inland, showing the most authentic and exciting side of Sardinia. There are really many motorbike routes in Sardinia, you just have to decide whether you will use the comfort of your own motorbike or shorten the journey by plane and rent a motorbike on the spot.
