Citrus Festival
The whole area of Sarrabus, and in particular the municipality of Muravera, is known for the production of tangerines and citrus fruits in general, and the citrus festival is an important showcase of all local producers and also one of the most anticipated of the whole spring. During the festival, there is a parade of folklore ensembles from all over Sardinia with beautiful traditional costumes, rich in colors and decorated with important gold jewelry with filigree technique. The parade also features the Cavalieri del Sarrabus and the so-called etnotraccas, decorated floats that faithfully reproduce moments from everyday life in the agropastoral world. In the evening, musical performances commence with dances and the sounds of launeddas, the famous Sardinian ancient wind instrument whose origins trace back directly to Sarrabus.
