November

November, like the other autumn months, is dedicated to the Cortes Apertas (“open courtyards”) within the Autumn in Barbagia festival. The opportunity to experience the traditions, crafts and local gastronomy is presented in the town of Nuoro, so-called “Athens of Sardinia”, or in the village of Mamoiada, best famous for Cannonau red wine and carnival masks. Mainly weekend festivities take place from September to December in different villages of the historic inland region of Barbagia, opening to the public places that are not always frequented by average tourists.
Temperatures drop to 20 degrees and moreover November is considered the rainiest month of the year. So when planning trips or playing sports, you better have a raincoat always with you.
